Electrician

*About the Role*

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and hands-on Electrician to join our maintenance and construction team. This position will focus primarily on electrical renovations, residential service work, troubleshooting, and general electrical repairs across our portfolio of residential and commercial properties.

The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience working in occupied residential buildings, completing renovations, diagnosing electrical issues, and handling a variety of service requests. Experience with household appliances, appliance troubleshooting, and installations would be considered a strong asset.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works efficiently, and can confidently manage projects and service calls independently.

*Key Responsibilities*

*Electrical Renovations & Installations:*

• Complete electrical work associated with residential renovations, unit turnovers, and property upgrades.
• Install, replace, and upgrade electrical fixtures, outlets, switches, lighting, and wiring.
• Assist with electrical rough-ins, finishing work, and renovation projects.
• Perform electrical upgrades and improvements to existing properties.
• Ensure all installations meet applicable electrical codes and safety requirements.

*Service Work & Troubleshooting:*

• Respond to electrical service calls and maintenance requests across the property portfolio.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including faulty outlets, switches, breakers, lighting, and wiring.
• Troubleshoot power interruptions and electrical system deficiencies.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate repairs or upgrades.
• Complete service work efficiently while minimizing disruption to tenants.

*Appliance Experience & General Maintenance:*

• Assist with the installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of household appliances.
• Diagnose basic electrical issues with refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other residential appliances.
• Perform appliance connections and related electrical repairs within the scope of applicable qualifications.
• Identify appliance issues and determine whether repairs or replacements are required.

*General Responsibilities:*

• Complete assigned work orders and service requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.
• Communicate effectively with property managers, project managers, and other trades.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and company safety procedures.

*Qualifications & Requirements*

• Licensed electrician or applicable electrical trade certification required for the work performed.
• Previous experience in residential electrical work, renovations, and service calls.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
• Experience working in apartment buildings, multi-unit residential properties, or occupied homes is an asset.
• Appliance installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting experience is considered a strong asset.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
• Professional communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
